About The Beaches
Cairns Northern Beaches are a collection of beachside suburbs that stretch over 20km along the coast North of Cairns. Many local residents choose to live at the beaches. The Northern Beaches are very tropical, lined with palm trees and plenty of shaded and grassy areas for picnics and BBQs. There are also swimming enclosures at most of the beaches. Public transport is available from the centre of Cairns with buses departing regularly. In the last few years the Northern Beaches have become very popular with tourists as they have an excellent range of economical accommodation and restaurants available. The Northern Beaches are particularly popular with families and people wishing to stay for a few weeks at a time.
